We will rock like the vikings

The largest open air festival along the ”Schleiregion” will be held from 24th to 26th August 2017.

The Baltic Open Air is moving in front of the gates of Schleswig-Holstein. The Land of the Vikings is the only place the Baltic Open Air should be held. Rocking like the Vikings is the motto this year. On three stages, the Baltic Event Management, led by owner Daniel Spinler, once again ignites a firework of the highest rock and metal league. Hard, harder, the hardest is it going to be on the new festival ground, with big names on the scene. "The line-up stands," assures Daniel Spinler. "And festival visitors can look forward to a concert of superlatives."

Among the bands is the Queen of Metal Doro Pesch. Cuddle rock was yesterday. The 1.54-meter energy bundle is ranked as the leading lady of the German hardcore scene. The metal queen proves this as usual on stage. In addition, the organizer puts the antlers on the helmets of the Vikings, because this year also the guys from Frei.Wild conquer the stage. Already in 2015, the South Tyrolean band had mixed up the north and their BOA fans were more than just thrilled. Now the musicians come exclusively, because the Baltic Open Air is the only festival show by Frei.Wild in Northern Germany. The motto is Germanrock par excellence, loud and heavy. And the South Tyroleans bring another goodie to the stage, namely their friendly band Bad Jokers - Old School with German lyrics.

For the first time the Heavy Metal band, Battle Beast and their brandnew studio album. The band has once again succeeded in pressing a first-rate, energetic piece of heavy metal - based on the inimitable voice of Frontbeast Noora Louhimo, catchy keyboards and plenty of earwig melodies.

From the south of the Federal Republic the formation Megaherz rocks the north. They belong in the category of Oomph! and Rammstein, who were some of the earliest representatives of the New German Hardness. So it's called Deutschrock by the guys who bring metal hell to the stage. The South Tyrolean band Unantastbar presents itself with hard-wearing punk rock. If you like medieval rock, do not miss the band Saltatio Mortis. The motto of the musicians "Who dances, does not die" is reflected on the stage show and no festival visitor can escape the ban.

And what's more going on at the BOA: Naturally, the world's famous medieval rockband In Extremo, Elbrebellen from Lauenburg convince with German hits, Goitzsche Front presents Punkrock from Bitterfeld and D'Artagnan is a bit Santiano and quite a lot musketeer with German songs. In addition, the popular groups Gotthard, Dorfrocker, Leaves Eyes, Gray Attack alternate on the stage. But also the German Schlager to sing along is not too short. Guildo Horn und die Orthopädischen Strümpfe will ensure a frenetic mood in the Horn style - that's for sure.

In the camp area the Viking stage will not disapoint, of course, this year powerful again. Here, you will rock, sing and dance to the music of B.S.U.R., Backraft, Big Harry, Forgotten North, the Schleswiger formation Kompliment, One, Riding a Deadhorse, as well as Stromabnehmer Schultze.
